Vegan Soulful Cacao Choc Chip Brownies


Bite through the crunchy outer layer to get to the gooey choc chip inside and let it melt in your mouth. Pair one of these with a cup of Soulful Cacao and your heart will be so so happy.

servings: 16 BROWNIES prep time: 20 MINUTES cook time: 35 MINUTES


  • 4 tablespoons ground flax or 3 tablespoons of chia seeds

  • 1/2 cup water

  • 1/2 cup vegan butter, melted,

  • 1 1/2 cup of unrefined coconut sugar

  • 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract

  • 1 cup unbleached plain flour

  • 1 cup Soulful Cacao

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1 cup non-dairy chocolate chips OR roughly chopped chocolate pieces


  • Make the flax eggs by stirring the ground flax and water in a small bowl or do the same with the chia. Set aside to thicken. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees.

  • Melt the vegan butter. (do not boil)

  • In a large bowl, whisk the melted vegan butter and sugar together. Add the flax or chia eggs and vanilla, stir until combined.

  • Sift in the flour and Soulful Cacao Add the salt and baking powder and stir with spoon until combined.

  • Fold in half of the chocolate chips. Pour the batter into the prepared pan or silicone muffin tray like I did and smooth out the top with a spoon or your hands. Sprinkle the rest of the chocolate chips on top of the batter.

  • Bake for 35-40 minutes depending on oven. (check with knife every 15-20 mins to make sure they don’t overcook)

  • Remove from the oven, allow to cool for 15 minutes and serve with a cup of Soulful Cacao.
